[News]Kim Hyun Joong is Back for ‘Round 3′

Ah, this is the good stuff. Solo idol Kim Hyun Joong is giving us a steady IV drip of new releases this month, staving off the withdrawal symptoms we’ve been suffering from since “Marry Me” in late 2011. The digital version of KHJ’s third mini-album Round 3 hit online music portals this week, nicely cushioned between two other big drop dates.

Following the quick digital single release of “The Reason I’m Alive” back in early June, fans finally got to see their idol in a MV again last week with “Unbreakable.” The pre-release single set the tone for Round 3, combining US choreographers, top Korean MV directors, hip-hop beats and martial arts into a hot East-meets-West party complete with sword dancers, expensive cars and lots of abs.

Check out the “Unbreakable” MV below featuring steps by dancer/choreographer Lyle Beniga (Taeyang, EXO), direction by Hong Won Ki (of Zany Bros), and some swag from Jay Park.


Yes, the album’s available now, but the fun’s not over just yet; The MV for the lead single “Your Story” ft. rapper Dok2 will drop along with the hard copies of Round 3 next week on July 29. This time, look forward to Keone Madrid (Se7en, Taeyang) choreography and direction by Jo Soo Hyun (PSY).

Kim Hyun Joong’s Album Takes Over iTunes Charts in 8 Countries

Proving that the SS501 member still has it, Kim Hyun Joong’s name was placed at the top of 8 iTunes Charts all around Asia.

On July 23, according to the Top Dance albums on iTunes, Kim Hyung Joon’s newly released album Round 3 took over the charts for Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Macau.

Kim Hyun Joong’s agency, KeyEast, thanked both the national and global fans for all the love and interest.

“We are working hard to put on a great comeback stage with all the support from the fans. Please anticipate it.”

Kim Hyun Joong released his album on July 22. His music video for Your Story will be unveiled on July 29.

What does Kim Hyun Joong think about his singing abilities?

Kim Hyun Joong confessed that while he knew he isn’t the greatest singer, he still had a big improvement in his vocals over the years.

On July 22, Kim Hyun Joong had a press conference for his 3rd mini album at the Seoul Imperial Palace Hotel. During the press conference, he said, “In this album, there are songs that showcase my vocal ability. I know I’m not a singer who’s recognized for singing ability, but I wanted to show that I’ve come this far.“He explained, “Next year, it’s my 10th year as a singer. I wanted to show fans that even though I’m not perfect, I’ve come this far and that I improved.“

Kim Hyun Joong Shows His Maturity Through Interview

Kim Hyun Joong who recently released his first Korean album in two years, ‘Round 3,’ took part in an interview with Focus Newspaper, showing his maturity as a performer over the years. The singer said, “I am twenty-eight years old now, so I probably shouldn’t be called an idol anymore. I want to show my maturity whether it’s through my outgoing personality or music… I learned how to relax on stage. This album also contains different genres of music.”

He continued, “My hoobaes don’t have to follow in my footsteps. I want to do things that I want to try right now. I took on powerful choreography for ‘Unbreakable’, and I wondered if I could still perform this dance 3 years later.”

Talking about his past history as a ‘flower boy,’ Kim Hyun Joong revealed, “During my ‘Boys Over Flowers‘ days, I wanted to show a manly image. But I leaned more towards a young, pretty boy image. But now I’ve really become a ‘man’.”

The interviewer asked how he had stayed in the music industry for so long, to which the singer/actor replied, “I really don’t know. I just kept doing the things I wanted to do, and I came to this day somehow… Whenever I perform at a concert, I always try to get closer with the audience and I normally try to treat my fans well. Kim Hyun Joong ranks high on iTunes charts across Asia with ‘Round 3′

Kim Hyun Joong‘s much awaited comeback with ’ROUND 3‘ is not only firing up fans domestically, but all over Asia as well.

After his song was released on the 22nd, it shot up to #1 on Thailand’s iTunes Top Albums Chart, #3 in Singapore and Taiwan, #4 in Hong Kong, #5 in Philippines, and #7 in Malaysia, signifying his popularity as a Hallyu star.

His label Key East also heard the good news, and responded, “Since the album has various genres such as urban R&B and crossover hip-hop, it seems like many fans all over the world are focusing on it.“

[News] Kim Hyun Joong Dominates on Online Music Charts with ′Your Story′

As soon as Kim Hyun Joong′s first promotional song for Korea in two years was released, it conquered and grabbed attention, becoming an issue across the web.

On July 22, Kim Hyun Joong released the songs from his third mini album Round 3 through music sites. With the release, the album′s promotional single, Your Story, managed to top live charts on Mnet, Bugs and more online charts.

Your Story is an urban R&B pop rearrangement of the modern rock genre title song from Kim Hyun Joong′s Japanese studio album Unlimited.

The release of the song was followed by a teaser for the music video, heightening expectations for the full version.

All six songs of the album have been garnering much support, with the music video for Unbreakable, released on July 18, beating out Infinite, A Pink, B2ST and other prominent idol groups on Mnet′s music video top 100 chart.

Kim Hyun Joong knows how he should carry himself responsibly, since he is a celebrity that has many fans looking up to him.

In a recent interview with the fashion magazine @star1, Kim Hyun Joong got talking about prejudice and rumors, and said, “I don′t think there was anything I had to clear up myself.”

At one point in 2013, The Giyomi Song was super popular, and Kim Hyun Joong felt that he also needed to follow the trend for his fans.

Now that his version of The Giyomi Song is done and over with, Kim Hyun Joong talked a bit about what happened behind the scenes.

In an interview with star magazine, @star1, Kim Hyun Joong talked about his homemade music video forThe Giyomi Song. At the end of the video, Kim Hyun Joong said, “Please put it in that I drank to do this. I can’t do this sober.”

Through the interview, Kim Hyun Joong said that the video was revealed first at his fanmeeting. “It was my first fanmeeting in Seoul since a long time, and I was wondering what I can do to leave a lasting memory, so I decided I would do The Giyomi Song.”

“The fans know that I can’t do that kind of thing and that I won’t do it, so I filmed it with fans after becoming determined and drinking some barley drinks (beer),” said Kim Hyun Joong.

He added that the fans at the fanmeeting went nuts and absolutely loved it because they knew what a rare treasure the video was.

Singer Kim Hyun Joong returns with Hollywood movie standard MV ‘Unbreakable’, causing hot response from fans.

Kim Hyun Joong showcases a manly and charismatic look via Star1′s August issue cover shoot.

A set of photos were released via Star1 magazine from Kim Hyun Joong’s recent photoshoot. In one of the photos, Kim Hyun Joong was seen with a new short hairstyle, well-built upper body dressed in leather jacket, giving off a sexy charismatic feel.

Although it was just days before his comeback, Kim Hyun Joong finished the photoshoot with professionalism and gained many praises and approval from the staffs. One of the staffs at the photoshoot remarked that “He left me with a strong impression, he gave even more concentration with every cut, irregardless of the stormy weather.”

Kim Hyun Joong’s interview regarding his thoughts about the new album and variety programme will be published in Star1 August issue, which will be released on 19th July. [News] Kim Hyun Joong Releases Another New Teaser for His Album

Kim Hyun Joong has been carrying on with the tattoos in the teasers for his upcoming album.

On July 17, five days before the release of his album, Kim Hyun Joong released another teaser image.

In the new image for Round 3, Kim Hyun Joong is shown staring at the camera with his charismatic eyes, with a short hairdo and smoky makeup — but the focus is clearly on his torso, which is covered in a new tattoo.

The tattoo is in the form of a traditional Korean goblin, emphasizing the mix of tradition and modern sounds.

A rep from Key East commented, “Expectations are high for Kim Hyun Joong′s album, which will contain powerful songs and sad ballads. Fans from Korea and around the world have been calling in with inquiries. On July 22, the songs for Round 3 will be released online, while presales will start for the offline album to be released on July 29.”

Kim Hyun Joong will also release the preview track Unbreakable with its music video on July 18.

[News]Kim Hyun Joong to Pre-Releases Track and MV on July 18

Ahead of his album release, Kim Hyun Joong will be showcasing a song and music video.

On July 15, KeyEast announced that Kim Hyun Joong’s new song and music video will be released on July 18 before his third mini album unveiling. The song will be revealed at noon (KST).

Also with the news, Kim Hyun Joong teased fans with a new image of his album, Round 3, showing a traditional Korean mask, or hahoe mask, inserting a bit of Korean culture to the album.

The Round 3 album will have featuring by both Jay Park and Dok2, as well as a large scale music video for Unbreakable.

It will be released on July 22.
