What happens when two of Korea’s biggest eaters get together — in a show about finding the best food? Viewers got the answer on the latest episode of ‘Barefoot Friends‘, where guest Jung Jun Ha showed up to challenge Kang Ho Dong in a battle of guts (literally)!

With the show recently embarking on a project to discover the best homemade food, the stage was set for an ‘eating battle’ of epic proportions. It began small — a contest to see who could eat the biggest spoonful of food at a time — but gradually ascended. By the end of the episode, the two heavyweights were scarfing down lettuce wraps bigger than UEE‘s face!

Kim Hyun Joong will be coming back with a new drama called ‘Age Of Feelings’ in January, 2014.

On September 17th, the production team of new KBS 2TV drama ‘Age Of Feelings’ told that the premiere date of the drama was decided to January, 2014.

‘Age Of Feelings’ will show a story of Korean, Chinese, and Japanese gangsters of 1930s in Shanghai, and it is being talked about one of the most anticipated dramas of 2014.

A colossal outdoor set is getting prepared in Shanghai, China, and the entire production team is hustling busily to present the best product possible.

The production agency decided to start the official shootings in Shanghai from next month. They held hands with Shanghai Media Group(SMG), and SMG will be giving full supports in Shanghai.

The production team foresaw that the shootings will get delayed a bit because of many different circumstances, and they are focusing more on making the drama better rather than finishing everything in a short time.

All of the actors and the staffs are passionately participating in their duties.

Meanwhile, ‘Age Of Feelings’ will premiere in January, 2014.

Uee of After School revealed that she had expected a love line with either of her “Barefoot Friends” costars, “Kim Hyun Joong and Yoon Shi Yoon.”

Uee appeared on an episode of “Hwashin” as one of the guests and talked about how she was not very popular with male celebrities because she lacked aegyo. She told the MCs, “Am I that scary? Male celebrities have never contacted or approached me.”

The MCs then asked her about her regular appearance on the variety show “Barefoot Friends,” and if she ever thought about forming a love triangle with her similar aged cast members, Kim Hyun Joong and Yoon Shi Yoon.

Uee explained, “At first I also expected a love line like Song Ji Hyo and Gary‘s on ‘Running Man.’ But then after we rode a plane together and they got to know my true self, it became impossible to form a love line with anyone. From the first night the male cast members would even take off their shirt in front of me like it was nothing.”

[News] Kim Hyun Joong ‘Our Neighborhood Arts and Physical Education’ cast continue their Taereung Village training

The August 27th episode of KBS 2TV variety ‘Our Neighborhood Arts and Physical Education’ revealed the second chapter of the cast members’ (Kang Ho Dong, Lee Soo Geun, Jo Dal Hwan, Lee Man Ki, Lee Ji Hoon, Kim Hyun Joong, John Park, Big Star’s Feeldog, 2PM’s Chansung) in training for badminton at Taereung Village.

The cast members enquired about the training schedules for national wrestling athletes, to which they replied, “We get up at 5:30AM in the morning, and begin our morning exercises. This will be followed by breakfast before going to bed for an hour.”

They continued, “We then continue with our morning training, and then break for lunch. We will then sleep for a while before continuing with afternoon training. After dinner, we will do some rehabilitation exercises until 9PM. We only have our own time after 9.” Their schedules of exercising, meals, and rest would be repeated daily, and their Spartan-like manner of living amazed the members and viewers.

They also revealed, “We are able to stay out once per week,” to which Soo Geun asked, “To meet your girlfriend?” where they answered with a smile, “We will read books or knit.”

The program then showed the nutritional menu at Taereung Village, where Chansung and Feeldog showed their extraordinary eating capability. The other cast members however took the opportunity to snap photos with national representatives who were having their meals.

The Spartan-like schedules which were repeated daily, allowed viewers to witness the dedication and passion that the athletes have in their quest to achieve glory at their respective sports. The program also showed the badminton players training on the beach in order to achieve excellence. The training routines which were a rare sight, allowed viewers to feel the potential and future of South Korean athletes.

Meanwhile, the cast also met up with South Korean long track speed skater Lee Sang Hwa, where she expressed, “Taereung Village is my life!” and left a deep impression on everyone.

Kim Hyun Joong will get to release his own brand of shades with the globally renowned jewelry designer Justin Davis.

Justin Davis is the designer of a jewelry brand loved by stars from around the world such as Eminem, Paris Hilton, Namie Amuro and Ayumi Hamasaki. For the collaboration, Kim Hyun Joong took up the post of model and designer. He inserted his own icon to make his brand unique, and perfected a modern design that would look stylish on anyone regardless of gender. This isn′t the first time the singer will be working with Justin Davis, as the two previously collaborated in 2011 and early 2013.

A rep for Justin Davis said, “Kim Hyun Joong poured out his own creativity and modern taste into the collaboration, and showed his talent in design also. We received a lot of favorable reviews for our jewelry line before, and again we were able to feel his passion and fine taste while working on his sunglasses.” The sunglasses will be made available in Japan from late August, and will land in Korea from September 6-12 through a Justin Davis popup store in Myeongdong.

The Justin Davis collection will also be sold at a flagship store to open in Apgujeong on September 14. Kim Hyun Joong released his third mini album Round 3 in July, and was much loved in Korea and around the world.

On the latest episode of KBS‘ ‘Happy Together‘, artist Kim Hyun Joong recalled his school days and the different part-time jobs he worked to save up money.

Fans probably already know this story, but Kim Hyun Joong revealed his knack for saving money, impressing the MCs with his pre-debut achievements.

Well-known for his ’4D’ way of thinking, Kim Hyun Joong shared, “During elementary school, I was smart enough to wake up at 6 in the morning to solve math problems. But later in my school days, I let go of studying without a second thought and started working part-time jobs.”

He revealed, “The money I saved from when I was younger plus the money I earned from my part-time jobs accumulated to about 100 million won ($89,400).“

Kim Hyun Joong appeared as one of the special guests on the recent episode of KBS’s variety talk program “Happy Together,” which was aired on August 15.

Kim Hyun Joong talks about his flaws on ‘Happy Together 3′

Kim Hyun Joong reveals he sighs whenever he looks into the mirror without his makeup on.

The singer appeared in the August 15 broadcast of KBS2′s Happy Together 3 for its flower boy special.

When the MCs asked him when he thinks he looks most handsome, he answered, “When I have all my makeup on.”

He added that the makeup covers up what he thinks is his biggest flaw, the dark circles under his eyes.

“I sigh whenever I see my bare face,” he said. “The dark circles have taken over.”

MC Park Mi Sun, however, still had praise to say for the singer’s looks, as she said, “But you don’t have much makeup on now. Your dark circles add to your mood. I kept staring at you out of all the guests because I was so surprised [at your looks].”

[News]‘Barefoot Friends’ holds a concert to show off songs from their songwriting project

The cast of ‘Barefoot Friends‘ proudly displayed their compositions from their songwriting project with a special concert!

Teaming up with famous producers such as Epik High to be their mentors, the cast soon became engrossed in songwriting. The episode also featured the processes by which the cast members built up their own songs. While some members tried to gain inspiration from their past, others looked within themselves and their friends to dig up tidbits of interesting life stories. Kang Ho Dong was the first to stand on the stage with special guest A Pink‘s Eunji, belting out a hip-hop composition to the cheers of the audience and their mentors.

[News]Kim Hyun Joong is Back for ‘Round 3′

Ah, this is the good stuff. Solo idol Kim Hyun Joong is giving us a steady IV drip of new releases this month, staving off the withdrawal symptoms we’ve been suffering from since “Marry Me” in late 2011. The digital version of KHJ’s third mini-album Round 3 hit online music portals this week, nicely cushioned between two other big drop dates.

Following the quick digital single release of “The Reason I’m Alive” back in early June, fans finally got to see their idol in a MV again last week with “Unbreakable.” The pre-release single set the tone for Round 3, combining US choreographers, top Korean MV directors, hip-hop beats and martial arts into a hot East-meets-West party complete with sword dancers, expensive cars and lots of abs.

Kim Hyun Joong’s Album Takes Over iTunes Charts in 8 Countries

Proving that the SS501 member still has it, Kim Hyun Joong’s name was placed at the top of 8 iTunes Charts all around Asia.

On July 23, according to the Top Dance albums on iTunes, Kim Hyung Joon’s newly released album Round 3 took over the charts for Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Macau.

Kim Hyun Joong’s agency, KeyEast, thanked both the national and global fans for all the love and interest.

“We are working hard to put on a great comeback stage with all the support from the fans. Please anticipate it.”

He continued, “My hoobaes don’t have to follow in my footsteps. I want to do things that I want to try right now. I took on powerful choreography for ‘Unbreakable’, and I wondered if I could still perform this dance 3 years later.”

Talking about his past history as a ‘flower boy,’ Kim Hyun Joong revealed, “During my ‘Boys Over Flowers‘ days, I wanted to show a manly image. But I leaned more towards a young, pretty boy image. But now I’ve really become a ‘man’.”

The interviewer asked how he had stayed in the music industry for so long, to which the singer/actor replied, “I really don’t know. I just kept doing the things I wanted to do, and I came to this day somehow… Whenever I perform at a concert, I always try to get closer with the audience and I normally try to treat my fans well. Kim Hyun Joong ranks high on iTunes charts across Asia with ‘Round 3′

Kim Hyun Joong‘s much awaited comeback with ’ROUND 3‘ is not only firing up fans domestically, but all over Asia as well.

After his song was released on the 22nd, it shot up to #1 on Thailand’s iTunes Top Albums Chart, #3 in Singapore and Taiwan, #4 in Hong Kong, #5 in Philippines, and #7 in Malaysia, signifying his popularity as a Hallyu star.

His label Key East also heard the good news, and responded, “Since the album has various genres such as urban R&B and crossover hip-hop, it seems like many fans all over the world are focusing on it.“
